Job summary

Janus Henderson Investors is seeking a senior subject matter expert within EMEA Trade Operations to support timely execution of trade lifecycle processes across multiple asset classes and products. The role involves guiding colleagues, handling complex operational issues, and collaborating with risk, compliance, and technology teams to implement robust procedures and controls.

You will work in a hybrid environment, engaging with portfolio management and external partners to drive best practices,

Qualifications

  • Trade Operations experience across activities including trade affirmation & capture, settlement & cashflows, collateral & margin, derivatives, ETD operations, and loans.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide subject matter guidance and resolve complex operational issues.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk, control frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Track record of identifying and implementing process improvements to reduce risk and increase efficiency.
  • Excellent stakeholder management across functions and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and day-to-day support to Trade Operations colleagues.
  • Perform end-to-end trade lifecycle activities including affirmation, capture, settlement and cashflows.
  • Assess new markets, instruments, and complex requests with governance under Operations procedures.
  • Develop and implement consistent standards and best practices across Trade Operations.
  • Maintain data integrity and strong operational controls in trade processing.
  • Collaborate with portfolio management, technology, compliance, legal and risk teams.

Your opportunity

Act as a senior subject matter expert within EMEA Trade Operations, supporting the accurate and timely execution of trade lifecycle processes across multiple asset classes and products. The role covers Trade Aff

  • Provide technical guidance and day-to-day support to Trade Operations colleagues, sharing expertise and helping to resolve complex or non-standard matters.
  • Perform and support end-to-end trade lifecycle activities, including trade affirmation & capture, settlement & cashflows, collateral management, margin processes, and support for listed and OTC derivatives and loans operations.
  • Assess new markets, instruments, investments, and non-standard or complex requests in line with the Operations Governance procedure, working with internal stakeholders and service providers to develop practical operational solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of consistent standards and best practices across Trade Operations.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate processing of trade-related activities, maintaining high standards of data integrity and operational control.
  • Partner with Trade Operations management and colleagues to improve the operating model, enhance controls, and support strategic initiatives.
  • Work with portfolio management, technology, compliance, legal, and risk teams to develop and implement robust procedures and controls.
  • Support operational projects, including requirements definition, testing, implementation, and the embedding of new processes and system enhancements.
  • Support compliance with internal policies and external regulations, providing subject matter expertise for audits, regulatory reviews, and control assessments when required.
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and act as a senior escalation point for complex operational issues.
  • Develop and maintain operational policies, procedures, and process documentation, promoting best practice and continuous improvement.
  • Flexibility to support evolving business needs when required.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Must have skills
