Job summary

Amey is seeking a Senior Track Engineer to join our Consulting Rail team on significant UK rail infrastructure projects across Derby, Manchester, Birmingham, and York. You will deliver technically sound track engineering solutions, lead a small team, and contribute to bids while working in a hybrid pattern with on-site presence as required.

The role offers exposure to major programmes, development opportunities, and a supportive environment focused on safety, quality and efficiency in rail

Qualifications

• Experience in rail track engineering, design, maintenance or renewals.
• Knowledge of DMRB and national standards; understanding of CDM regulations relevant to Rail design.

Responsibilities

• Produce technically sound engineering solutions and designs.
• Check designs, calculations and drawings; supervise junior staff.
• Liaise with client and supplier representatives; attend progress meetings.
• Manage a small, locally based, single-discipline technical team and workload delivery.
• Contribute to bids and general work-winning activities.
• Work on site as required, including out-of-hours work.
• Provide people management when required.
