Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Associate Director to lead the planning consents team, based from offices in Bristol, Chesterfield and Manchester, with a hybrid working policy. The role focuses on overseeing major infrastructure projects across energy, rail and water sectors, emphasising strategic planning, mentorship, and client development.

• Significant experience leading planning consent applications for large infrastructure projects.
• Experience providing strategic planning advice to clients and internal teams.
• Strong client relationship and business development capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and mentors junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the planning consents service.
• Provide line management and mentorship to junior team members.
• Lead major development applications including DCO processes.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and budget.
• Oversee quality assurance, health and safety compliance, and deliverables.
• Drive business development and client relationship strategies.
