Carrington West is recruiting a Principal Town Planner to join its Edinburgh team. You will manage a varied workload, delivering strategic planning advice and leading planning projects for developers, landowners and investors across Scotland and the UK.

The role offers senior client-facing responsibility, scope for autonomy, and opportunities to contribute to business growth within a specialist planning consultancy.

Qualifications

• Experience in town planning with ability to manage projects independently.
• Background in planning consultancy or development management with understanding of commercial property and development sector.
• Knowledge of the Scottish planning system and policy advantageous.
• Ability to manage client relationships and provide commercially minded advice.
• Excellent organisational skills and confidence to take ownership of projects.
• Proactive approach, contributing to wider business growth.
• RTPI Chartered Membership, or working towards chartership, would be advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Manage planning applications and development proposals across sectors.
• Provide strategic planning advice, undertake site appraisals and assess development potential.
• Prepare and review planning statements, reports and supporting documentation.
• Advise clients on planning policy, development management and relevant legislative requirements.
• Liaise with local authorities, developers, landowners and stakeholders.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered effectively.
• Support business development activities and identify opportunities to grow the consultancy.
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members.
