Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Town Planner to join our York office. This hybrid/flexible role involves delivering planning advice and managing projects across diverse rural, residential, and strategic schemes in the UK.

You will work with private landowners, developers, and institutional clients within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be MRTPI-registered (or working towards chartership), hold a degree in Town Planning, and demonstrate solid UK

Qualifications

MRTPI or working towards chartership is required.
Degree level in Town Planning or related discipline.
Experience within the UK planning system (private or public sector).
Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
Proactive, commercially aware and able to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals.
Undertaking site appraisals and planning research.
Providing clear, commercially focused planning advice to clients.
Managing projects and liaising with stakeholders, local authorities, and consultants.
Supporting senior colleagues on complex and strategic planning projects.
