Job summary

Essar Energy Transition is seeking a Town Planner to join the Regulatory Planning team at the Stanlow site in Ellesmere Port. The role covers complex planning and consenting across TCPA, DCO/NSIP regimes for a multi-billion-pound portfolio of energy and infrastructure projects.

You’ll work with project teams, regulators and local authorities, taking ownership of key planning workstreams and potentially deputising for the Regulatory Planning Manager as the programme progresses.

Qualifications

• Degree in Town/Urban Planning or related discipline.
• Strong project management and analytical skills.
• Experience leading elements of complex planning applications.
• Understanding of the UK planning system (TCPA/NPPF) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support and lead planning and consenting activities for major energy, infrastructure and industrial projects.
• Develop and manage planning strategies from early development through to delivery.
• Coordinate TCPA and DCO/NSIP activities with multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage planning submissions to high quality and on schedule.
• Identify planning risks and develop practical consenting solutions.
• Assist with post-consent delivery and conditions.
