Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd are working with an established planning consultancy in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, seeking a Senior or Principal Town Planner to join their team. You will manage planning applications, provide strategic advice, and develop client relationships across diverse development sectors.

The role offers ownership of projects, mentoring of junior staff, and a path to senior leadership within the consultancy.

Qualifications

Degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or related discipline.
Several years' planning consultancy or local authority experience.
Chartered membership of RTPI.
Strong understanding of UK planning legislation and policy.
Ability to manage planning applications and deliver outcomes.
Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Managing and coordinating planning applications across sectors.
Preparing and submitting planning statements, appeals, appraisals, and supporting documentation.
Providing strategic planning advice to landowners, developers, investors and other clients.
Identifying development opportunities and advising on planning constraints.
Managing projects from initial feasibility through to planning consent.
Building and maintaining relationships with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders.
Representing clients at meetings and engaging with planning officers and consultees.
Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
Contributing to business development and helping to strengthen the consultancy's market presence.
