Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Planner or Senior Town Planner to join a Central London planning consultancy. The role offers an office-based, full-time position with career development and RTPI support.

You’ll work on a varied portfolio, develop your skills across planning processes, and report to senior team members. The role suits both planners progressing and experienced Senior Town Planners seeking a new challenge.

Qualifications

• A degree or postgraduate qualification in Planning or a related discipline.
• Experience in town planning, ideally within consultancy.
• Good knowledge of the UK planning system.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to manage your own workload and work to deadlines.
• A proactive and commercially aware approach.
• RTPI membership or a desire to work towards RTPI accreditation is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with and manage planning applications and projects
• Undertake planning research and policy assessments
• Prepare planning reports, statements and supporting documentation
• Liaise with clients, local authorities and other consultants
• Contribute to the delivery of planning strategies and projects
• Develop your knowledge across a broad range of planning matters
• Work closely with senior members of the team and have genuine opportunities for progression
