Job summary

Taylor Root is exclusively partnering with a world-leading media and marketing organisation to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel (Data Privacy, AdTech & AI) into its Commercial & Technology team for the EMEA region.

The role targets a candidate with 4–6 PQE from a top City, US or international firm, or equivalent in-house experience, to advise on complex data privacy, technology and media arrangements across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer from a leading City, US or international firm, or with extensive in-house experience.
• Strong experience in Technology, Commercial Contracts, or TMT.
• Exposure to digital platforms, advertising technology, SaaS, data licensing or tech transactions.
• Interest in evolving AI regulatory landscape.
• Commercial instincts and stakeholder management to advise senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Advising on complex AdTech, data, technology and media services arrangements.
• Negotiating strategic agreements with advertisers, global platforms, data providers and partners.
• Supporting products involving audience activation, programmatic advertising, data licensing and AI-enabled marketing.
• Leading analysis of complex controller/processor frameworks and cross-border data flows.
• Advising on GDPR, PECR, ePrivacy, DSA and emerging AI regulation, including the EU AI Act.
• Providing pragmatic, commercially focused advice to business leaders operating in a fast-paced, innovation-led environment.
• Helping shape the organisation’s approach to privacy, AI governance and evolving regulatory risk.
