Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL in Colchester is seeking a Senior Thermal Mechanical Engineer to own thermal performance across complex electromechanical products, from requirements review to prototype build and production support.

The role is hands-on and requires working in a hybrid environment with cross-functional teams including PMs, hardware, software and manufacturing. Strong SolidWorks experience and 5–10 years in thermal/electromechanical design are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven understanding of thermal management for electronics.
• Hands-on, end-to-end thermal design experience in electromechanical systems.
• Ability to work independently and lead projects with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Review requirements and contribute to early system architecture discussions.
• Create initial conceptual mechanical designs.
• Run detailed structural and thermal analysis (SolidWorks + Flow Simulation).
• Present work at preliminary and critical design reviews.
• Manage projects independently with PMs, hardware, software and manufacturing teams.
• Investigate production issues and root causes under time pressure.
• Build, test and debug prototypes in the lab.
• Design jigs, fixtures and produce assembly drawings with GD&T.
• Support new product introduction and explore new thermal technologies.
