Job summary

HAND Enterprise Solutions LTD. seeks a Senior Therapeutic Support Worker for a new residential children’s home in North Shropshire. You will lead shifts, deliver therapeutic care, and act as on-shift decision-maker to ensure safeguarding and high-quality support.

You will mentor staff, maintain detailed records, and build strong relationships with children, families, and external professionals to support education and healthcare access.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential childcare or similar care environment.
• Experience leading shifts or mentoring colleagues.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Willingness to undertake on-call duties and sleep-ins.
• Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and therapeutically.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts and oversee day-to-day running of the home.
• Provide therapeutic care for children and young people.
• Act as on-shift decision-maker and ensure safeguarding.
• Coach and develop support staff.
• Maintain safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
• Prepare and review care records, reports, and risk assessments.
• Build relationships with children, families, and professionals.
• Support education, healthcare, appointments, activities and community access.
