Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Residential Support Worker within children's residential care.
• Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People or Health & Social Care.
• Full manual UK driving licence.
• Passion for creating a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for children and young people.
• Strong understanding of the needs of children and young people in residential care.
• Motivated, resilient and positive approach.
• Ability to lead, mentor and support colleagues.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Willingness to take on additional responsibility and develop as a leader.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, safe and nurturing care to children and young people.
• Take a senior role in the day-to-day running of the children's home.
• Lead by example and support Residential Support Workers in delivering high standards of care.
• Mentor, guide and support colleagues to develop their skills and confidence.
• Build positive, trusting and professional relationships with young people.
• Support the delivery of therapeutic, child-centred care.
• Follow individual care plans, safeguarding procedures and agreed therapeutic approaches.
• Support young people with their emotional wellbeing, development and individual needs.
• Respond appropriately to challenging situations and support positive behaviour.
• Help maintain a stable, supportive and homely environment.
• Contribute to the smooth running of the home and the effective delivery of daily routines.
• Support colleagues to maintain high standards of safeguarding, records and professional practice.
• Participate fully in the fixed shift pattern and sleep-in requirements.
• Complete required training and engage in ongoing professional development.
• Support the development of a positive, reflective and child-focused team culture.
• Help shape the future of the brand-new therapeutic children's home.
