Job summary

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced nurse or operating department practitioner to work across the service, covering all elements of the patient pathway including Pre Assessment, assisting with invasive procedures, practitioner-led sedation, post-op recovery and discharge.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner is required.
• Ability to work across Pre Assessment, perioperative, and post-operative stages.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for safe and effective care of patients in pre operative, the perioperative and post-operative periods.
• Perform pre operative assessments for patients to ensure fitness for treatment.
• Assist medical staff when they are performing invasive procedures.
• Responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.
• Responsible for complete nursing care of patients without supervision.
• Work with the Theatre Manager and multidisciplinary team to provide a safe, comprehensive and efficient delivery of theatre services.
