Job summary

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Liverpool is seeking an experienced Senior Theatre Practitioner (ODP or Nurse) to provide safe perioperative care across Pre-Operative, Intraoperative and Post-Operative stages. This role sits in an NHS Band 6 framework with full-time hours and a focus on delivering high-quality cancer theatre services.

You will join the Interventional Radiology & Brachytherapy departments, participate in patient pathways, and contribute to training and service development

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council or registration with Health and Care Professions Council
• Pre operative assessment course
• Clinical Examinations MSc module
• Advanced Life Support
• Recognised Sedation qualification

Responsibilities

• Responsible for safe and effective care of patients in pre operative, the perioperative and post-operative periods
• Perform pre operative assessments for patients to ensure fitness for treatment
• Assist medical staff when they are performing invasive procedures
• Responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care
• Responsible for complete nursing care of patients without supervision
• In conjunction with the Theatre Manager and multidisciplinary team, work to provide a safe comprehensive and efficient delivery of theatre services
