Job summary

Circle Health Group is seeking a Senior Theatre Practitioner at The Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor to join the Theatre department on a permanent basis, working 37.5 hours weekly.

The role provides skilled assistance to surgical and anaesthetic teams, leads theatre preparation and list coordination, and supports safe patient flow. You will supervise junior staff and uphold governance, quality, and safety standards in a busy perioperative setting.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or ODP (HCPC) status is required.
• Significant perioperative experience with orthopaedic procedures.
• Knowledge of clinical governance and infection prevention in theatre.
• Experience leading a theatre team or coordinating lists.
• Ability to communicate effectively with consultants and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and handle specialist instrumentation and equipment per guidance.
• Assist surgical and anaesthetic teams and anticipate procedural needs.
• Lead theatre preparation, coordinate lists, and ensure resources are in place.
• Support Theatre Manager with briefs, scheduling, and stock control.
• Supervise junior practitioners and provide clinical guidance.
• Identify risks and participate in audits and incident reviews.
• Liaise with clinicians and recovery staff to ensure continuity of care.
