Senior Theatre Practitioner - Circle Health Group

Location: Goring Hall Hospital, West Sussex

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, permanent

Salary: Up to £44,709.00 per year (depending on experience, training, and qualifications)

Overview

Circle Health Group's Goring Hall Hospital, part of Britain's leading independent healthcare provider, is seeking a Senior Theatre Practitioner to join their theatre team. This full-time role involves flexible shift patterns and responsibilities in perioperative care, supporting surgical procedures, supervising staff, and ensuring high standards of patient safety and care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and handle specialist instrumentation and equipment in line with protocols.
  • Assist surgical and anaesthetic teams, adapting to procedural needs.
  • Prepare theatres, coordinate surgical lists, and ensure resource availability.
  • Support the Theatre Manager with team briefings, scheduling, and stock control.
  • Supervise junior staff, providing clinical guidance and oversight.
  • Identify and escalate risks, participate in audits and incident reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure excellent patient care.
Candidate Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).
  • Significant perioperative experience, especially in orthopaedics.
  • Knowledge of complex procedures and clinical governance.
  • Leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in senior or team-leading roles within theatres.
  • Experience in Anaesthetics and Recovery preferred.
