Job Description:

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration.
  • Post-registration qualification relevant to functional specialty, e.g., Advanced Scrub Practitioner or Surgical First Assistant qualification (for scrub leads).
  • ENB 998 and/or mentorship course.
  • Approved / recognised anaesthetic course.
  • ILS.
  • Orthopaedic skill.
  • ILM3.
  • Previous experience working within an acute healthcare environment.
  • Experience managing and leading a clinical team.
Duties of this role include:
  • Deliver safe, quality care for patients during their peri-operative phase.
  • Support, coordinate, and actively assist in managing and organizing care within the operating department.
  • Provide quality planned care during the peri-operative phase by ensuring team members deliver appropriate clinical and managerial leadership.
  • Lead in the delivery of patient care during a list or specified period.
  • Ensure patient safety checks are carried out according to policy and all practitioners adhere to it.
  • Contribute to quality improvement.
  • Develop and enhance skills and knowledge of others and self.
  • Promote evidence-based practice within scope.
  • Apply legislation, policies, and procedures correctly.
  • Achieve objectives and demonstrate CHG behaviors at all times.
