Job summary

Salt Digital Recruitment seeks a Senior Test Environment & Platform Manager in London. The role blends hands-on OpenShift, Kafka and Linux platform engineering with strategy to move from legacy to microservices, supporting Agile delivery squads.

Expect to manage both legacy and modern environments, define standards and automate provisioning with IaC while coordinating across DevOps, QA and architecture teams. Hybrid working with 8 onsite days per month.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience within Test Environment Management in complex enterprise technology environments.
• Hands-on OpenShift experience, including environment setup, configuration, support and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on Kafka experience, including supporting/configuring Kafka-based environments.
• Strong Linux infrastructure/engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Test Environment Strategy & Transformation: own and drive the strategy across a large-scale programme.
• Transition approach from permanent Waterfall-style to on-demand Agile environments.
• Collaborate with architects, engineering, QA and delivery squads for environment needs.
• Ensure environments support both legacy and microservices-based services.
• Define standards, governance and operating models for environments.
• Provide hands-on support across OpenShift, Kafka and Linux-based environments.
• Automate provisioning and management via IaC; integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor environment availability, capacity, costing and performance.
