Job summary

Salt Digital Recruitment seeks a forward-thinking OpenShift/Kafka Test Engineer for a banking client in London. The role involves hands-on testing across infra projects, supporting environment needs and test automation within a hybrid, 12-month engagement.

You will contribute to environment setup, perform manual and automated testing, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely, reliable testing and release readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on testing experience in finance
• Experience with OpenShift/Kafka-based infrastructure testing
• Knowledge of BDD/TDD and Agile methodologies
• Experience in infrastructure projects testing environments

Responsibilities

• Contribute to infrastructure projects, define Technical Test requirements
• Hands-on test execution, manual and automated testing, reporting progress and status
• Contribute to environment infrastructure set up and the creation of supporting documentation
• Contribute to the x-platform test environment preparation (build/refresh), ensuring it is progressing according to plan and escalating issues accordingly
• Contribute to the environment impact assessment of infrastructure changes e.g. security patches
• Provide guidance on ensuring requested environment(s) are correctly setup and ready on time to start testing stages
• Escalate risks, issues and concerns to the Scrum Master as required
• Interface with stakeholders for environment impact assessment & problem resolution
