Job summary

AJ Bell is seeking a Senior Software Test Engineer to drive testing across UI, API, back office processes, and third-party integrations in a fast-paced environment. You will mentor testers, design automated tests with BDD, and help shape test strategy while collaborating with developers in a hybrid UK team.

You will contribute to test automation, ensure quality across releases, and support UAT and production deployments in a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Senior Tester with experience delegating work and acting as first point of contact.
• Full understanding of the testing lifecycle and methodologies.
• Create automated test scripts using BDD.
• Maintain and extend existing automation frameworks.
• Exploratory testing in an Agile environment.
• Develop test tools and extend frameworks and environments.
• Proven experience testing APIs with integration tools.
• Experience with CI/CD using Jenkins, Git and AWS CodePipeline.
• Automation-first approach to test execution with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication with developers and technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coaching/developing testers, peer review, and task delegation.
• Carry out testing across UI, API, back office workflows, and 3rd party integrations, including end-to-end testing.
• Understand and interpret business, functional and technical requirements.
• Input into how solutions are developed and delivered to best serve customers.
• Execute test scripts and record results using testing tools.
• Raise bugs with detailed reproduction steps and timelines.
• Collaborate with Technical Leads to implement a test automation strategy.
• Support UAT and release to Production.
• Apply Agile practices and contribute to process improvements.
