Job summary

Synergize Consulting Ltd seeks a Senior Test Engineer to develop and execute test strategies for electro-optical and electronic products in a defence environment in Basildon. You will perform hands-on lab testing, instrumentation, and diagnostics across multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires SC clearance, a strong lab background, and experience with test instrumentation and data analysis to support verification and validation activities throughout product lifecycles.

Qualifications

• HND or higher in Systems, Electrical, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• Practical experience in one or more of: Electrical testing, Electro-optics, Environmental testing, Acoustic testing.
• Hands-on lab-based testing, diagnostics and measurement.
• Good understanding of test instrumentation and data analysis.
• Experience working within structured engineering life cycles/processes.
• Strong attention to detail and organisation.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• SC clearance or ability to obtain SC clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test strategies, procedures and test solutions.
• Support the design, integration and commissioning of test systems.
• Perform hands-on laboratory testing, measurement and diagnostics.
• Work with electrical and electro-optical test instrumentation and analyse test data.
• Support integration, verification and validation activities.
• Interpret product-level test requirements and contribute to structured engineering processes.
• Produce and review technical documentation, test procedures and user instructions.
• Work collaboratively with hardware, software, optical and systems engineers.
