Job Description

Due to continued growth and new long-term projects, we have an immediate requirement for a highly experienced Senior Test Applications Development Engineer to join our busy and growing business in Northamptonshire. This is not an "IT" or "Software Engineer" role. This is an electronic engineering position.

We are open to establishing a satellite office in another location within the following areas: Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Leicestershire, Warwickshire, and Cambridgeshire. You would be tasked with carrying out your role as a Test Development Engineer and also recruiting and growing your own team.

Role Responsibilities

• Design and develop applications for the functional testing of electronic and electrical products.
• Define the test approach and/or specifications and document the project scope for each project.
• Generate test programs using LabVIEW and TestStand.

Technical Requirements

• Engineering qualification in electronic/electrical engineering, ideally to degree level, with in-depth relevant functional test experience.
• Currently employed in a test development role within an electronic manufacturing environment.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Lean leadership, development, and mentoring.
• Software design using tools like LabVIEW and TestStand to produce functional test programs for electronic products (5+ years).
• Experience in electronic hardware design, including schematic CAD use.
• Experience with equipment interfaces (e.g., fixtures), test system architecture, and basic electro-mechanical engineering (advantage).
