This role is hybrid, ideally based near our offices in Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, or Birmingham, but we consider other UK locations. Your future duties and responsibilities:

You will work on a flagship programme impacting UK citizens. As digital transformation progresses, your team will be responsible for testing applications supporting client services, collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Review requirements and specifications; define test conditions; create test scripts for manual and automated testing using tools like Playwright
  • Manage defects and prioritize them using tools like JIRA
  • Ensure products are accessible and meet standards
  • Share best practices and network within and outside DWP
  • Evaluate software to identify bugs and ensure functionality
  • Execute test cases and develop test plans and reports
  • Verify software meets requirements and performance standards
  • Mentor other testers and promote best practices
Required qualifications:

We seek a candidate with strong leadership skills, experience in manual and automated testing, and the ability to lead testing efforts in agile teams. You should have:

  • Experience with agile testing and automation scripts in CICD environments, especially in AWS and Git
  • A proactive approach and ability to work independently
  • Skills in testing UIs and APIs, including non-functional testing
  • Ability to work with technical stakeholders and escalate issues when needed

Experience with the following tech stack is required: BDD, Java, Selenium, Spring Boot, AWS, GitLab CI, Docker, Stubbing, Swagger, Mongo.
