Job summary

Kier Group plc. is seeking a Senior Temporary Works Engineer to support civil, structural and geotechnical projects across multiple UK locations. The role offers agile/hybrid working with up to 1-2 days from home and a 40-hour week.

Starting salary is £50k per year, with opportunities to lead projects and develop teams within a top-25 consultancy. Applicants should hold IEng/CEng status or be working towards Chartered Engineer.

Qualifications

• Practically-minded with grounding in civil, structural and/or geotechnical engineering principles and knowledge of applicable design standards.
• Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) with equivalent experience.
• Enjoy applying first principles thinking to real-world construction challenges, attention to detail, safety and buildability.
• Experience of temporary works design and/or management, or other practical construction experience.
• Strong organisational and communication skills; able to work in collaborative teams.

Responsibilities

• Producing, checking and reviewing design outputs such as calculations, sketches, drawings, 3D models, reports and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with CDM, SHE procedures and QA processes.
• Acting as Project Lead for multiple projects, managing technical scope, programme, budget and relationships with preconstruction and construction teams, from bid through to delivery.
• Developing yourself, other individuals and the wider team, contributing to continuous improvement of processes and systems.

Job description

Senior Temporary Works Engineer

We're looking for civil, structural and/or geotechnical engineers to join our team in various locations around the UK. Locations: Birmingham / Bristol / Cambridge / Cardiff / Glasgow / Leeds / Liverpool / London / Manchester / Newcastle / Norwich / Plymouth. Agile working, with up to 1-2 days per week from home if desired.

Hours: 40 hours per week flexibility on hours available if desired. Salary: Starting from £50k per annum. Sector: Working across all sectors of the built environment.

Main responsibilities

Requirements
