Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL seeks a Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer to lead complex temporary works design for major London/South East schemes. You will manage design packages, perform checks, and ensure buildability with TWCs, PMs, site teams, and permanent works designers.

The role requires Chartered/Incorporated Civil/Structural/Geotechnical engineering experience, BS 5975 expertise, and strong CAD/BIM skills. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering (Chartered/Incorporated).
• Proven experience in temporary works design and checking with a specialist contractor or consultancy.
• Strong expertise in BS 5975, CDM regulations, Eurocodes, and safety standards.
• Proficient in structural analysis software and CAD/BIM tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead concept-to-detail temporary works designs (calculations, drawings, specs) and perform independent Cat 2/3 design checks.
• Cover demolition stability, façade retention, heavy propping, needling, excavation supports, piling platforms, and falsework.
• Ensure full adherence to BS 5975, CDM regulations, Eurocodes, and company safety standards.
• Work closely with TWCs, project managers, site teams, and permanent works designers to ensure buildability.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct technical site audits to resolve site-specific design issues.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer to join a premier specialist contractor delivering major schemes across London and the South East. You will act as the technical lead, managing design packages for complex demolition, heavy propping, façade retention, and deep excavations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Check: Lead concept-to-detail temporary works designs (calculations, drawings, specs) and perform independent Cat 2/3 design checks.
• Scope: Cover demolition stability, façade retention, heavy propping, needling, excavation supports, piling platforms, and falsework.
• Compliance: Ensure full adherence to BS 5975, CDM regulations, Eurocodes, and company safety standards.
