Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer for a permanent role in Central London. You will lead the design and technical delivery of temporary works across demolition, enabling works, groundworks and reinforced concrete projects, with a salary of £70,000–£100,000 plus travel expenses and benefits.

Formación

• Degree or equivalent in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Experience delivering temporary works design for demolition, enabling works or groundworks.
• Strong knowledge of BS 5975, CDM regulations, Eurocodes and British Standards.
• Experience producing and checking structural calculations and temporary works designs.
• Proficiency in CAD/BIM environments and related engineering tools.

Responsabilidades

• Develop temporary works designs, calculations, drawings and specifications from concept through detailed design.
• Lead designs for demolition stability, façade retention, propping, excavations, crane bases and temporary support works.
• Coordinate temporary works interfaces with permanent works, logistics plans and construction sequencing.

• Review specialist contractor and supplier proposals, identifying design risks and required amendments.

As a Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer, you will lead the design and technical delivery of temporary works solutions across demolition, enabling works, groundworks and reinforced concrete structures projects. This is a permanent opportunity based in Central London offering £70,000 - £100,000 plus travel expenses and benefits.

About the opportunity:

Reporting to the Director, as a Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer, you will take ownership of the following responsibilities:

• Develop temporary works designs, calculations, drawings and specifications from concept through detailed design.
• Lead designs for demolition stability, façade retention, propping, excavations, crane bases and temporary support works.
• Coordinate temporary works interfaces with permanent works, logistics plans and construction sequencing activities.
• Undertake site inspections, technical audits and design reviews to verify compliance with approved designs.
• Review specialist contractor and supplier proposals, identifying design risks, clashes and required amendments.
• Mentor engineers, technicians and graduates while supporting technical development and design quality standards.

Experience as a Temporary Works Design Engineer delivering complex demolition, civil engineering or specialist contractor projects.

Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering.

Strong working knowledge of BS 5975, CDM regulations, Eurocodes and British Standards.

Experience producing and checking structural calculations, technical reports and temporary works designs.

Competency in structural analysis software, engineering design tools and CAD or BIM environments.

Ability to coordinate with Temporary Works Coordinators, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.

Desirable:

• Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer status, or working towards professional registration.
• Experience designing temporary works for reinforced concrete structures and enabling works projects.
• Experience carrying out independent design checks and technical approvals.
• Background supporting technically challenging projects in busy urban environments.
