Job summary

AMA Group's Smart AVR is seeking an experienced Senior ADAS Technician to join our Arundel team in Queensland. This hands-on senior role focuses on diagnosing and resolving complex automotive issues while guiding other technicians and directing workflow to deliver high‑quality outcomes.

You will work with advanced diagnostic equipment, calibrate ADAS systems to manufacturer standards, and stay up-to-date with evolving automotive technology.

Qualifications

  • Qualified mechanic or Auto Electrician with OEM training preferred.
  • Extensive automotive diagnostics experience and ability to mentor others.
  • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical and electronic vehicle systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed diagnostics and inspections across multiple vehicle makes and models.
  • Use advanced diagnostic equipment to identify and troubleshoot complex faults.
  • Provide day-to-day technical guidance to other technicians.
  • Coordinate and prioritise work to deliver efficient, high-quality outcomes.
  • Coach less experienced technicians and promote consistent processes.
  • Carry out repairs and ADAS calibrations to manufacturer standards.
  • Prepare clear reports and communicate findings professionally.

The Opportunity

We're currently seeking an experienced Senior ADAS Technician to join our team working in Arundel

This is a hands‑on senior role for an experienced technician who is confident diagnosing and resolving complex automotive issues while providing day‑to‑day guidance to other technicians. You will help direct workflow, share technical knowledge and support quality outcomes across the team, without being solely responsible for team management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform detailed diagnostics and inspections across a wide range of vehicle makes and models
  • Utilise advanced diagnostic equipment and software to identify and troubleshoot complex faults
  • Provide day‑to‑day technical guidance and direction to other technicians when required
  • Support the coordination and prioritisation of work to help the team deliver efficient, high-quality outcomes
  • Coach and share knowledge with less experienced technicians, promoting consistent processes and workmanship
  • Carry out repairs and component replacements to manufacturer standards
  • Review complex jobs, assist with escalations and help ensure work meets safety and quality standards
  • Prepare clear and accurate reports on all work completed
  • Communicate findings and repair recommendations clearly and professionally
  • Keep up to date with evolving automotive systems, diagnostic techniques and emerging technologies
  • Carry out repairs, component replacements and ADAS calibrations to manufacturer standards
About You
  • Qualified mechanic or Auto Electrician (OEM trained and experience favoured)
  • Extensive experience in automotive diagnostics or an advanced technician role, with the technical credibility to support and guide others
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability, particularly with complex or intermittent faults
  • Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical and electronic vehicle systems
  • Confidence using a variety of diagnostic scan tools, software programs and test equipment
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to coach, mentor and provide direction to other technicians
  • Ability to help prioritise work, maintain standards and keep jobs moving without needing to be the sole person responsible for the team
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the confidence to step up and support the wider team
  • High standards of accuracy, safety, attention to detail and pride in your work
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage your workload and make confident decisions
  • Current valid driver's licence
