Job summary

Storm Auto Services Ltd is recruiting for a Mobile Diagnostic / Vehicle Technician based around High Wycombe and Guildford. The role involves traveling to customer sites to diagnose and repair vehicles, calibrating ADAS and programming electronic modules, with a salary of £35,000–£38,000 per year plus bonus after probation.

We require ATA/IMI certification, at least 3 years hands-on experience, and a valid driving license.

Qualifications

• ATA/IMI certification is required.
• Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in specialist automotive repair.
• Main dealer, manufacturer or specialist training preferred.
• PC literacy is essential for diagnostic work.
• Ability to work unsupervised and manage time effectively.
• Hold a valid driver license.
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills with customers.
• Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through training and self-study.

Responsibilities

• Travel to and from customer sites to perform diagnostics and repairs.
• Utilise a wide range of vehicle manufacturer and aftermarket diagnostics tools.
• Follow health and safety requirements in the workshop and wear PPE as required.
• Identify problems with vehicles using diagnostic equipment.
• Explain automotive repairs and issues to customers and provide excellent service.
• Test functionality of parts and systems after repairs.
• Research and apply correct OEM repair methods.
• Program and update electronic modules on cars and small vans.
• Willingness to gain additional certifications as needed.

Storm Auto Services are dedicated to supporting the collision sector, helping repairers calibrate, program and repair ADAS safety systems and other complex electronic systems.

Our nationwide fleet of highly qualified automotive technicians, provide a wide range of advanced diagnostics and programming services.

Mobile Diagnostic / Vehicle Technician - Responsibilities:

• Travel to and from customer sites.
• Use of wide range of vehicle manufacturer and aftermarket Diagnostics skill.
• Awareness of health & safety requirements in the workshop, and responsibility of personal protection equipment worn by the staff in the areas of responsibility.
• Identify problems with vehicles using the diagnostic equipment.
• Explain automotive repairs and issues and provide great customer service.
• Test the functionality of parts and systems
• Research and use correct OEM repair methods
• Program and update electronic modules on cars and small vans
• Prepared to get additional certification as needed.
• Willingness to learn with hands-on training.
• Keep a professional appearance.
• To ensure customer cars are left in safe working condition

Any other duties as and when required by senior company managers that are reasonably within the capabilities of the person and are aimed at achieving the company's objectives and goals.
