Job summary

UBT in Reading is seeking an experienced Technical Workplace Designer to join our team. You’ll translate design concepts into detailed construction information that can be priced, procured, and built, bridging creative design with pre-construction and site delivery.

You will own the technical development of workplace projects, ensuring proper coordination with M&E, HVAC, and external consultants. You’ll maintain CAD standards and drive buildable, compliant solutions across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in workplace or commercial interior design with a strong emphasis on technical design and project delivery.
• Expert-level AutoCAD skills and familiarity with Revit are highly advantageous.
• Solid understanding of workplace construction, technical detailing and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Producing detailed and accurate drawing packages, including floor plans and elevations.
• Developing design information from concept through to construction, ensuring buildable solutions.
• Coordinating with pre-construction and site teams to refine technical details within budgets and programmes.
• Liaising with M&E, HVAC and external consultants to ensure integrated workplace systems.
• Maintaining CAD standards, drawing accuracy and document control throughout the project lifecycle.
