Associated British Ports is seeking a senior Technical Training Lead to unite health and safety, engineering, marine and plant operations under a single, compliant training strategy. You will build competency frameworks, assess performance and design scalable training aligned to ABP standards and risk priorities.

Qualifications

• Experience building technical training in safety-critical environments.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and accreditation.
• Experience developing competency frameworks and assessing competence.
• Experience deploying learning technologies to scale training delivery.
• Strong stakeholder and project management to drive value.
• Proven leadership of a high-performing training team.
• Desirable: NEBOSH and/or L&D/CIPD qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the organisation's technical training strategy across health & safety, engineering, marine and plant operations.
• Develop training programmes to build capability, support compliance and reduce risk.
• Oversee competency frameworks, assessments and accreditation requirements.
• Drive the use of learning technologies and innovative training solutions.
• Ensure training meets regulatory, safety and business standards with governance.
• Lead and develop a high-performing technical training team.
• Monitor performance and data to drive continuous improvement and future capability.
