Job summary

Davies is seeking a Senior Technical Surveyor to lead subsidence investigations from Leeds-based home locations. You will manage complex domestic and commercial cases, guiding clients and colleagues through technically challenging resolutions.

The role demands strong civil/structural engineering knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with insurers, loss adjusters, contractors and authorities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Surveying or related discipline.
• Strong experience in subsidence investigation and building pathology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, organised approach and ability to work independently.
• Flexible mindset and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid understanding of buildings insurance, contract administration and construction law.
• A full, clean UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Managing complex subsidence investigations from first visit to final resolution.
• Visiting damaged properties to assess structural, technical and insurance-related issues.
• Designing and overseeing stabilisation schemes and repair strategies.
• Producing high-quality technical reports, specifications and tender documents.
• Interpreting geotechnical investigations and advising on foundation solutions.
• Administering building contracts, valuations and variations.
• Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, Planning, CDM and Party Wall legislation.
• Working closely with policyholders, insurers, loss adjusters, contractors and local authorities.
• Supporting and mentoring colleagues, and contributing to training delivery.
• Maintaining accurate case records and meeting service level expectations.

Description

Based ideally Leeds & Surrounding areas Are you ready to take on some of the most technically challenging and rewarding subsidence claims in the industry? Davies is looking for a skilled, motivated professional to join our specialist subsidence division — someone who thrives on complex problem‑solving, enjoys autonomy, and wants to make a real impact for clients and policyholders.

This is a home‑based role with travel you will ideally be based around the Leeds area with the freedom to manage your own workload while being part of a supportive, expert team.

What will your day look like:

You’ll be the technical lead on our more complex domestic and commercial subsidence claims, providing expert guidance to colleagues and clients. Your work will include:

• Managing complex subsidence investigations from first visit to final resolution
• Visiting damaged properties to assess structural, technical and insurance‑related issues

We’re looking for someone with the technical depth and confidence to handle highly complex subsidence cases. You’ll ideally have:
