Job summary

Octopus Dynamics is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer for its South East UK base. You will grow market share in existing sectors and spearhead new sectors as part of the company's growth strategy, liaising with technical and operations teams to ensure proposed solutions meet customer needs.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in automation sales for packaging, strong AutoCAD competences for basic layout sketches, and proficient MS Office.

Qualifications

• Essential: Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales in automation in the secondary and/or tertiary packaging industry with evidence of meeting targets.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop relationships with new prospects
• Manage the relationships, needs and requirements of existing prospects and customers
• Maintain relationships following the sale with customers
• Provide detailed costings for sales enquiries, ensuring the most cost-efficient method
• Generate customer value propositions and winning pricing strategies
• Visit prospects and customers, completing visit reports to update all relevant company personnel
• Negotiate tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs
• Attend regularly occurring sales meetings with updates on all pipeline opportunities
• Liaise with the technical department regarding technical queries and confirm the recommended solution
• Liaise with the operations department to agree on production schedules for upcoming opportunities
• Attend marketing events such as trade shows and conferences
• Any ad hoc assignments that the incumbent can add value to for the company
