Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to join the Hertfordshire team, driving technical projects within the pharmaceutical Quality Control laboratory and ensuring GMP-compliance of systems, equipment, and processes.

You will oversee lifecycle management of QC electronic systems (LIMS, CDS) and lead cross-functional teams including Quality, IT, Manufacturing, and external stakeholders to deliver compliant improvements and New Product Introductions in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering or equivalent military experience.
• Significant experience in a pharmaceutical Quality Control laboratory.
• Minimum 2 years managing QC equipment and electronic laboratory systems.
• Experience supporting validation, qualification, or laboratory compliance activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all technical projects within the QC laboratory.
• Develop and mentor a team of technical specialists.
• Oversee lifecycle management of QC electronic systems like LIMS and CDS.
• Ensure GMP and Data Integrity compliance across systems.
• Plan five-year equipment replacement and investment.
• Lead NPI and Method Transfer in QC.
• Coordinate regulatory changes and pharmacopeia updates.
• Drive change management to keep systems operational and compliant.
• Review SOPs, quality documents, and technical procedures.
• Coordinate education and training on equipment and software.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on improvements.
• Monitor progress, risks, budgets, and resources.
• Support inspections, audits, and regulatory interactions.
