Job summary

Alten is seeking a Senior Facilities Engineer to join the Hertfordshire team, overseeing site-wide building services, utilities, and critical infrastructure within a pharmaceutical manufacturing and research setting.

You will lead engineering activities, supervise contractors, and drive continuous improvement to uphold safety, quality, and regulatory standards in a highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, GMP-regulated life sciences environments.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise engineering teams and contractors delivering planned, reactive, and corrective maintenance activities.
• Act as a primary technical contact for HVAC systems and building infrastructure.
• Review maintenance procedures, permits and engineering documentation for compliance.
• Support continuous improvement and training for engineering personnel.
• Coordinate maintenance shutdowns and project work with key stakeholders.
