Job summary

Monzo is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead the end-to-end planning and execution of payment product launches in a London or remote (UK) setting. You will coordinate across engineering, product, and design to deliver multi-team initiatives.

The role requires 5+ years of experience in managing complex technology programs, strong communication skills, and the ability to scale programs across markets while driving execution and alignment.

  • 5+ years of experience managing complex technology programs or products from inception to launch.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively to a wide range of audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Experience operating in a global business with multiple markets and diverse working styles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of launching payment products that cross multiple teams and disciplines.
  • Define program roadmaps and milestones, set priorities, manage trade-offs, identify and manage critical path and risks.
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment and speed of delivery; manage dependencies and sequencing of delivery.
  • Drive effective decision making to remove blockers and speed up delivery; ensure operational effectiveness across the area.

At Monzo, our mission is to make money work for everyone, everywhere. We’re looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to help ship more and better payment product offerings. This is a high-impact role that demands both technical expertise and exceptional leadership to drive our ambitious goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of launching payment products that cross multiple teams and disciplines
  • Manage cross-collective programs:
    • Define program roadmaps and milestones, set priorities, manage trade-offs, identify and manage critical path and risks, ensure alignment with the business goals and ambition
    • Collaborate and communicate with multiple stakeholders, both technical and non-technical across the business to ensure alignment and speed of delivery
    • Manage dependencies, timeline and sequencing of delivery
  • Drive effective decision making to remove blockers and speed up delivery
  • Ensure operational effectiveness across your collective/area
You should apply if:

  • You understand how functionality comes together (across products and platforms) to deliver value for users, and identify/mitigate delivery risks proactively; can propose and drive a technical solution
  • You are comfortable personally diving deep into the data and architecture to make good decisions in complex situations where there’s often no “right answer”
The interview process:
  1. Recruiter Call (30 mins) You'll meet our Engineering Leadership Recruiter to discuss your experience and learn more about Monzo. They'll be your partner and guide throughout the interview process.
  2. Initial Call (45 mins) You'll meet with one of our engineering leaders. They'll ask you about your previous experience, in particular program execution and technical leadership. They’ll also make time to tell you about Monzo and answer your questions.
