It’s an exciting time to join us! The RWEST Data Platform Team are looking for an experienced technical lead who will shape the future data needs of our organisation.

Using the latest cloud technology, the Lead in Data (LiD) platform, used as the primary data analytics platform within the group, alongside MIX, has revolutionised the searching, sharing and on-boarding of Data within our organisation. Market Data is the fundamental backbone to the company’s trading and analysis communities as well as support functions and is fast becoming an critical asset across the RWE group.

We are looking for a keen, motivated tech enthusiast to join us as a Technical Product Owner. Someone who wants to work in close collaboration with our business stakeholders as well as internal squads, to define our future platform direction.

Your Future Responsibilities

  • Own the Lead in Data product vision and key objectives for our product alongside our other Product Owners, ensuring this aligns to the overall Business goals and objectives.
  • Act as the interface between key stakeholders within the business, transporting business requirements into a sustainable technical backlog, design and related roadmap.
  • Build, shape and influence the technical delivery backlog with innovation ideas, enhancements and technical requirements from a variety of sources.
  • Architect strategic solutions with the team which will enhance our self-service platform offering.
  • Be a real technical hands-on problem solver, able to work closely with the team on data solutions for complex requirements with a can do attitude.
  • Engage with our platform vendors (AWS, Dremio, Databricks, Tableau and Alation), prioritise fixes and understanding their product roadmaps, assessing impact and manage usage / billing.
  • Work closely with the respective IT and business Product Owners, particularly within the Data space (Market Data IT, Embedded IT, Governance Office, Licensing etc).
  • Keep up to date with new Data Analytics trends, always looking to new solutions to solve complex problems.
  • Act as a technical mentor to the squad in terms of knowledge, architecture and solutions.

Your Powerful Skills

  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • The ability to translate business requirements into a technical design. Review and further improve existing technical designs.
  • Have through understanding of cloud architecture and have awareness of production system design principles.
  • Strong working knowledge on Cloud Eco systems (AWS preferred)
  • Able to balance technical understanding with business acumen and user engagement.
  • Work with a collaborative mindset focused on delivering value to our users.
  • Solid understanding of operational aspects like high availability, scalability, monitoring, security, robustness.
  • Experience in DevOps best practices.
  • Be able to communicate to customers, stakeholders and the IT community at all levels.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with peers.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good Conflict Management skills.
  • Ability to inspire trust / confidence in others.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, independent and reliable team player.
