djr is seeking a Senior Technical Product Owner to operate between senior business stakeholders and highly technical engineering teams in Preston. This permanent role features a hybrid pattern with three days onsite per week and a competitive salary up to £75,000 plus benefits.

You will own requirements and backlogs for complex enterprise software, translate business needs into epics and stories, and collaborate with engineers, architects, QA, and product leadership through the full software

Qualifications

Job description

Salary: £67,000 - 88,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We are looking for someone who has operated as a Senior Technical Product Owner, Technical Business Analyst, or technically focused Product Owner within complex enterprise software environments.
  • We need strong technical product ownership experience and the ability to hold credible conversations with engineers and architects.
  • We need exceptional stakeholder management skills, including comfort challenging senior leaders, running workshops, and influencing people with competing priorities.
  • We need strong experience owning requirements and backlogs, taking high-level requirements through discovery and refinement into clear, actionable engineering work.
  • We need experience delivering enterprise-scale products involving multiple teams, systems, integrations, and dependencies.
  • We need a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, Agile delivery, and modern engineering practices.
Responsibilities:
  • We take ownership of requirements and delivery across complex enterprise products.
  • We bridge business and technology by translating complex business requirements into detailed epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • We own technical delivery by managing and prioritising the backlog, leading refinement and workshops, understanding dependencies, and challenging technical solutions alongside Engineering and Architecture.
  • We lead senior stakeholders by facilitating difficult conversations, challenging assumptions and priorities, bringing structure to ambiguity, and driving groups toward clear decisions and outcomes.
  • We work closely with Software Engineers, Architects, QA, and Product leadership throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • We translate Product Requirements Documents and strategic objectives into implementation-ready engineering requirements.
  • We understand the implications of APIs, integrations, data flows, architecture, and system dependencies without needing to be a software engineer.
  • We take ownership rather than simply documenting what others have decided.
