The Role

We are looking for a Senior Technical Manager to join our Design & Technical team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced design professional to lead the design process for high-end residential projects. As part of a supportive and dynamic team, you will take the reins in delivering innovative and bespoke designs, while working closely with senior colleagues and clients to ensure quality, feasibility, and sustainability.

You will manage the design team, oversee project coordination, and drive design excellence across multiple projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the future direction of our design practice while developing your leadership skills within a respected and growing company.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design Leadership: Lead and manage the design process, ensuring the creation and delivery of high-quality, innovative design solutions.
2. Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand their vision and ensure the design meets their needs while remaining within budget and on time.
3. Project Coordination: Oversee the coordination of the design team and ensure effective communication with contractors, consultants, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Quality Control: Ensure that all design outputs meet Griggs' exacting standards, adhering to building regulations, industry codes, and best practices.
5. Team Leadership: Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes innovation and professional development.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who possesses:

• Proven experience in a senior design / technical role within the construction sector, ideally on luxury or high-end residential projects.
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp) and experience overseeing technical quality control in design.
• Strong technical knowledge of design principles, construction methodologies, and building regulations.
• Experience leading and managing design teams, with the ability to mentor and develop junior professionals.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a strong passion for design excellence and the built environment.
