Job summary

CLAAS U.K. Ltd. in Saxham is seeking a Senior Technical Instructor to lead the design, delivery and coordination of advanced technical training programs for agricultural machinery.

You will manage training content, stay abreast of industry developments and drive continuous improvement across local and global academy networks, while coaching colleagues and supporting team development. This role offers an annual incentive, modern office and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working within the agricultural engineering industry or similar engineering background.
  • Experience of training development and delivery.
  • An understanding or interest in the agricultural industry is desirable to keep up to date on industry challenges.
  • Specialism for one product group would be advantageous, i.e.; Tractors or Foragers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, delivery and coordination of comprehensive technical training programs for agricultural machinery.
  • Develop and update training materials; keep up with industry/product developments.
  • Deliver training in face‑to‑face and virtual formats; assess delegates and provide feedback.
  • Coach and mentor delegates; collaborate with product development and service teams to ensure content accuracy.

Your role in our team:
  • Working as part of the CUK Academy Team. The Senior Technical Instructor leads the design, delivery and co-ordinationof comprehensive technical training programs for agricultural machinery.
  • This role entails advanced technical expertise, resource and content managementcapability and a strategic approach to training and development.
  • Training Course Development
    • You will take the lead inplanning and preparing training courses on agricultural machinery and associated technologies and/or related topics for both face to face and virtual training.
    • Keep up to date with industry and product developments, and trends feeding this back to the team so they can further develop and update training materials.
    • Engage yourself as well as support colleagues in the continuous improvement of training programs across the local and global academy networks.
    • Work actively to improve the Academy training portfolio.
  • Training Course Delivery
    • Deliver training courses on agricultural machinery and associated technologies.
    • Assess delegates progress and provide constructive feedback where relevant escalating to the relevant stakeholder where required.
    • Deliver training courses in a safe and effective learning environment.
    • Maintain and role model safety standards during training sessions.
    • Take a proactive rolein ensuring the standards are maintained in terms of welfare and safeguarding of delegates.
    • Actively support and promote equal opportunities, diversity and inclusion to ensure no learner is discriminated against.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Coach and mentor delegates to provide guidance and answer any technical questions.
    • Lead on positively collaborating with product development and service teams to ensure training content accuracy.
    • Proactively role model professional behaviours when liaising with external stakeholders. Building a strong rapport with delegates, customers and dealers.
  • Team Development
    • Be anexpert in agricultural machinery products and technical processes.
    • Take the lead on supporting continuous professional development for yourself and the team and role model these behaviours.
    • Actively coach and mentor junior members of the team and act as a role model.
Your profile:
  • Experience
    • Experience of working within the agricultural engineering industry or similar engineering background.
    • Experience of training development anddelivery.
    • An understanding or interest in the agricultural industry is desirable to keep up to date on industry challenges.
    • Specialism for one product group would be advantageous, ie; Tractors or Foragers.
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Achieved a Level 3 in Land-Based Engineering or an equivalent Engineering qualification.
    • Achieved a qualification in Teaching / Education and Training.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office programmes such as Teams and Powerpoint.
    • Awareness and understanding of health and safety, and related procedures.
    • The ability to work on your own initiative as well as positively contributing to teamwork is essential.
  • Communication
    • Positive attitude and flexible mindset to adapt to daily requirements.
    • Be confident and approachable to support learners and the team.
    • Strong communication skills are imperative to be able to work with cross-functional teams and external parties.
  • Organisation
    • Motivated to manage your own workload and prioritising tasks to meet deadlines.
    • Strong attention to detail is essential.
