Job summary

Carr's Billington Agriculture is seeking an Agricultural Machinery Service Technician for our Carlisle depot. You will lead technical support, diagnosing and maintaining agricultural machinery and equipment from leading brands, in the workshop or on farm as required.

The role requires an apprenticeship with certificated qualifications, practical experience with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, and a Full UK Driving Licence.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship with certificated qualifications for servicing and repairing machinery from leading manufacturers.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Willing to work on customer premises and in the workshop.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.
• Able to work to tight deadlines and adapt to changing demands.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical support in repairing, diagnosing and maintaining agricultural machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair problems to ensure machinery operates to manufacturer specifications.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance across the business.
• Maintain on-call service and provide out of hours support as required.
• Work in the workshop or on farm as needed.
• Maintain dealer standards and a clean, efficient working environment.
• Foster strong working relationships with machinery departments to ensure quality and deadlines.

THE JOB

Taking responsibility for some key day to day processes in line with company guidelines and ensuring smooth communication between all parties. Play a key part in offering industry leading levels of service to our internal and external customers.

Day to day technical support of a busy workshop, covering the following key areas;

• Lead technical support. Be responsible for repairing, diagnosing, maintaining agricultural machinery and equipment from some of the most prestigious agricultural brands.
• Diagnose and repair problems with machinery and equipment ensuing machinery will operate to a high standard in alignment with manufacturer specification to a high level of accuracy.
• Providing technical expertise and guidance as required across the business
• Maintain on-call service and offer out of hours support as required
• Working within the workshop or in the field/on farm as required
• Ensuring Dealer Standards are maintained across the department and maintaining a clean and efficient working environment.
• Maintaining a strong working relationship with all machinery departments ensuring work quality, accuracy and deadlines are met.

Skills, Experience And Qualities Required

• Experienced team players, able to operate to their own initiative and to tight deadlines with a 'can-do' attitude
• Individuals which have served their appropriate recognised apprenticeship and have recognised and certificated qualifications for servicing and repairing machinery from leading manufacturers
• Those who are flexible in carrying out work both on customer premises and in our workshop
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Ability to manage change and to adapt to unexpected demands on a day to day basis
• Confident IT user, including a working knowledge of diagnostic software
• Flexibility with working hours during busy season and weekends in a rapidly changing environment
• Ability to assess priorities and manage competing deadlines both independently and as a member of a team.
• Full UK Driving License required
• People who are experienced with equipment and machinery from any other sector
