Job summary

L&C Employment Consulting is seeking an experienced Technical Design Lead in Shropshire to guide the technical approach on complex event and fabrication projects, delivering production‑ready design output and maintaining high standards.

You will lead the Technical Design team, set quality benchmarks, and work closely with Creative Design to ensure a seamless transition from concept to installation, both on site and in workshop.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Technical Design experience in complex event and fabrication projects.
• Exceptional drawing and detailing ability with manufacturing and site delivery understanding.
• Proficiency in 3D modelling software and 2D drafting standards.
• Experience mentoring designers and raising output quality across teams.
• Strong communication and cross‑disciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design on complex experiential, exhibition and live‑event projects.
• Bridge creative design to production, delivering production‑ready solutions.
• Develop departmental standards, workflows and best practices for quality and efficiency.
• Mentor the Technical Design team and review output with clear feedback.
• Collaborate with Creative Design, Production and external partners to maintain design intent.
