Genomics England seeks a Principal Technical Project Manager to support its Engineering Chapter, driving improvements to tooling, platforms and ways of working within the Software Delivery Lifecycle and live operations across the service and company.

You will work closely with the Director of Engineering and core Engineering Chapter teams to prioritise initiatives, align with product managers, and deliver outcomes effectively while balancing delivery commitments with evolving organisational

• Proven track record of project and programme delivery from initiation to business as usual.
• Agile and adaptive project, risk, and issue management with a proactive approach.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Commercial awareness to support informed decision-making.
• Ability to work in a regulated environment with increasing compliance needs.
• Stakeholder management, building trusted relationships across teams and leadership levels.
• Confident decision-making with sound judgement on escalation and risk management.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for non-technical stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Own the end-to-end delivery of key technical workstreams within a programme.
• Lead OKR management and initiatives across Engineering Chapters.
• Partner with Product Managers and Service Owners to validate requirements and timelines.
• Establish and maintain delivery plans with roadmap visibility.
• Ensure delivery progress is reflected in operational tools for planning.
• Identify and manage risks, actions, issues and dependencies.
• Prepare status updates and contribute to governance forums.
• Support governance across delivery, cybersecurity, data quality and IT requirements.
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and adapt communications.
• Lead and motivate contributors in matrix environments.
