Job summary

enable recruitment | B Corp™ is partnering with a fast-growing specialist insurance business in Bristol to recruit a Senior Technical Claims Handler. The role focuses on handling complex, high-value claims and acting as the technical expert within the team.

You’ll own difficult cases from notification through settlement, support and develop the wider claims function, and ensure decisions meet FCA requirements and internal standards. Hybrid working with two days in the office is offered.

Qualifications

• Significant insurance claims experience with strong technical knowledge.
• Experience handling complex or high-value claims.
• Familiarity with policy interpretation and indemnity decisions.
• Understanding of FCA requirements and claims best practices.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex, high-value claims from notification to settlement.
• Act as technical point of contact for the team; provide guidance and coaching.
• Perform QA reviews and ensure decisions are well evidenced and documented.
• Oversee payments within delegated authority; monitor reserves and settlements.
• Support onboarding and training of new Claims Handlers; develop materials.
