Job summary

SF Partners in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Procurement Lead to own strategic sourcing, supplier relationships, and cost optimisation across UK, Europe and Asia. You will drive purchasing improvements by collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Finance teams to ensure high-quality components at competitive prices.

Maintain supplier performance, negotiate commercial agreements, and develop procurement strategies aligned with business growth and NPI initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in procurement, ideally within manufacturing or engineering.
• Proven experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management and contract negotiation.
• Strong commercial awareness with a track record of delivering procurement savings.
• Experience sourcing components and materials internationally (UK/Europe/Asia).
• Excellent negotiation, communication and supplier relationship management skills.
• Experience using ERP/MRP or purchasing systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement and category strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Lead supplier negotiations covering pricing, contracts, payment terms and commercial agreements.
• Identify and deliver measurable cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Oversee purchasing activities including RFQs, tenders, purchase orders and contract management.
• Improve procurement processes, reporting and supplier governance.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects by sourcing components and negotiating agreements.
