Job summary

Ubisoft in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Senior Technical Animator to design and build robust rigging systems for high-quality assets in the Rainbow Six universe. You will shape character movement, skinning, and interaction to align with the franchise’s visual identity.

You will collaborate with artists, animators, and engineers to maintain a cohesive look across features while mentoring junior team members and driving continuous improvement throughout the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Portfolio/showreel demonstrating character rigging, deformation, and scene structure.
• Experience with industry-standard 3D software (3DS Max or Maya) and 3D modelling.
• Ability to mentor artists and animators while contributing to a full development life-cycle.

Responsibilities

• Design and build rigging systems to support high-quality assets.
• Ensure cohesive visual style across features with a focus on gameplay character elements.
• Translate mock-ups into high-quality visualisations guiding production and art team feedback.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to realize the Director's creative vision for character movement.
