Job summary

(Undisclosed client) in London seeks a Senior Credit Risk Technology Analyst to join a strategic Credit Risk Technology function. This hands-on role bridges Credit Risk, Data and Technology, translating business and regulatory requirements into detailed specifications and managing delivery across the full SDLC.

The position is a contract until end-March with potential extension; hybrid work is available with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience within a regulated banking or capital markets environment.
  • Experience across Credit Risk, Risk Technology, Technical Analysis or related delivery functions.
  • Strong understanding of Credit Risk frameworks and processes.
  • Basel III / Basel IV, CRR / CRD, SA-CCR, IFRS 9, Credit RWA methodologies.
  • Proven experience producing Functional Specification Documents (FSDs).
  • Strong experience creating and managing Epics, Features and User Stories within Jira.
  • Experience working closely with software development and architecture teams.
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to analyse and validate complex data.
  • Track record of owning delivery from requirements through to implementation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary interface between Credit Risk, Technology, Data, Treasury, Finance and Front Office stakeholders.
  • Gather, analyse and document business and regulatory requirements.
  • Translate requirements into detailed Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Ensure accurate interpretation of Credit Risk policies, methodologies and regulatory requirements within technology solutions.
  • Support strategic Credit Risk platform enhancements and transformation initiatives.
  • Own and manage Epics, Features and User Stories within Jira.
  • Work closely with developers and architects to ensure requirements are fully understood and delivered as intended.
  • Refine and prioritise backlogs in partnership with business stakeholders and programme leadership.
  • Support sprint planning, UAT, defect management and production releases.
  • Maintain full traceability between business requirements, technical design and delivered solutions.
  • Analyse large datasets to support requirements gathering, impact assessments and solution validation.
  • Use SQL to interrogate and validate data across multiple systems.
  • Support data lineage, mapping and reconciliation initiatives.
  • Investigate data quality issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams on strategic data platform initiatives.
  • Contribute to modernisation and cloud transformation programmes where appropriate.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Risk, Technology and Business functions.
  • Present requirements, progress updates and recommendations to senior management.
  • Facilitate workshops and requirement-gathering sessions.
  • Coordinate delivery across global teams and multiple workstreams.

My client is one of the largest financial institutions headquartered in Japan, with an established presence across all consumer and corporate banking businesses. Through its subsidiaries and affiliates, they offer a diverse range of financial services, including commercial banking, leasing, securities, credit card, consumer finance and other services.

They are seeking an experienced Senior Credit Risk Technology Analyst to join a strategic Credit Risk Technology function within a leading global banking organisation. This role sits at the intersection of Credit Risk, Data and Technology, acting as the key link between business stakeholders and development teams to deliver complex Credit Risk solutions and regulatory change initiatives.

This is a hands-on position requiring deep Credit Risk domain expertise combined with strong technical analysis, data interrogation and agile delivery experience. You will be responsible for translating business and regulatory requirements into detailed functional specifications, managing delivery through the software development lifecycle, and ensuring solutions meet both business and regulatory expectations.

The position is being offered on an initial contract until the end of March but with the potential to extend. You will be hybrid working being office based 3 days a week, 2 days working from home.

Key Responsibilities
Credit Risk Technology Analysis
  • Act as the primary interface between Credit Risk, Technology, Data, Treasury, Finance and Front Office stakeholders.

Agile Delivery & Jira Management
  • Own and manage Epics, Features and User Stories within Jira.
  • Work closely with developers and architects to ensure requirements are fully understood and delivered as intended.
  • Refine and prioritise backlogs in partnership with business stakeholders and programme leadership.
  • Support sprint planning, UAT, defect management and production releases.
  • Maintain full traceability between business requirements, technical design and delivered solutions.
Work across key areas of the Credit Risk lifecycle including:
  • Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR)
  • Exposure and Limit Management
  • SA-CCR and IMM methodology implementation
  • Credit Risk RWA calculations (Standardised and IRB approaches)
  • Corporate and Wholesale Lending
  • Collateral Management and Margining
  • IFRS 9 impairment and Expected Credit Loss processes
  • Credit Risk data quality and reporting
  • Basel III / Basel IV regulatory change initiatives
  • CRR/CRD compliance requirements
Data Analysis & Technology
