Job summary

Empresaria Group plc is seeking an experienced Senior C# Developer to join a Risk Technology team in a leading financial services organisation in London. The role is hands-on across Credit and Market Risk systems, partnering with Risk, Technology and Front Office stakeholders to design, develop and scale technology solutions for trading and risk management.

You will bring strong C#/.NET Core development and SQL experience, with exposure to Market or Credit Risk environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in banking, financial services or capital markets.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior C# Developer to join a high-performing Risk Technology team within a leading financial services organisation.

This is a hands-on development role working across business-critical Credit and Market Risk systems. You will work closely with Risk, Technology and Front Office stakeholders to design, develop and enhance scalable technology solutions supporting trading and risk management activities.

The successful candidate will combine strong C#/.NET Core development skills with solid SQL experience and a good understanding of financial services. Previous exposure to Market Risk or Credit Risk environments would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance applications using C# and .NET Core.
• Develop and optimise solutions supporting Credit and Market Risk processes.
• Work with SQL Server and T-SQL across data-intensive applications.
• Deliver new applications, enhancements and upgrades to existing technology platforms.
• Work closely with Risk teams, traders, desk heads and other Front Office stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective technology solutions.
• Participate across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and technical design through to development, testing and production deployment.
• Build robust, scalable and maintainable solutions using established development and architecture best practices.
• Support integration between internally developed applications and third-party/vendor platforms.
• Contribute to CI/CD, automated testing and software release processes.
• Support regulatory, risk and internal reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, resilience and maintainability across existing platforms.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprints and release planning.
• Provide technical guidance around C#, .NET and the wider technology stack.
• Contribute to production support and the team's on-call rota where required.
• Strong hands-on experience with .NET / .NET Core.
• Strong SQL, ideally SQL Server / T-SQL.
• Previous experience working within banking, financial services or capital markets.
• Experience delivering complex technology solutions from design through to production.
• Strong understanding of software engineering and application architecture best practices.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated testing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work effectively with senior technical and business stakeholders.
• Comfortable operating within a fast-paced Agile development environment.

Highly Desirable

• Previous experience working within Market Risk and/or Credit Risk technology.
• Understanding of financial markets, trading or risk management.
• Experience developing applications used directly by Risk or Front Office teams.
• Strong numerical skills and the ability to interpret financial information.
• Experience working directly with traders, desk heads or senior Risk stakeholders.
• Knowledge of technology governance and IT General Controls within a regulated financial institution.

Candidate Profile

This role would suit an experienced Senior C# Developer / Risk Developer who can operate at the intersection of technology and financial risk.

You should be comfortable remaining hands-on with development while also engaging directly with senior stakeholders to understand business problems and translate them into robust technical solutions.
