Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Selly Oak, Birmingham. The role is permanent, term-time-only, 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for other patterns.

You will support pupils aged 2-19 with Autism and SEND, following behaviour plans, sensory profiles and risk assessments to provide consistent, personalised support and help pupils develop communication and independence.

Qualifications

• Desire to work with pupils with Autism and other diagnosed Special Educational Needs.
• Willingness to develop knowledge of Autism and SEND.
• Ability to follow behaviour plans, sensory profiles, risk assessments and pupil guidance.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Patient, resilient, proactive and flexible approach.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with learning and communication needs.
• Follow individual Positive Behaviour Management Plans.
• Follow Sensory Differences Profiles and risk assessments.
• Provide personalised, consistent support to pupils.
