Job summary

Hertfordshire County Council's TRUST Teaching Service is seeking two Senior Teacher posts in the Countywide team. The role combines teaching with senior leadership, focusing on reintegration, school transition, and ensuring high standards of provision across the service.

The post includes a teaching commitment of roughly 60% and involves line-management of Teachers and Reintegration to Education Officers. The successful candidate will lead on implementing the TRUST Teaching and Learning

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a school, SEND, inclusion, outreach or alternative provision setting.
• Proven ability to improve teaching and learning through strong leadership.
• Experience of managing and developing staff and monitoring EHCP outcomes.
• Excellent digital skills and experience supporting ICT/Functional Skills provision.
• Resilience, initiative and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and development of TRUST Teaching and Learning Strategy or TRUST Behaviour strategy.
• Direct line-manage Teachers and Reintegration to Education Officers.
• Lead performance management, supervision, appraisal and professional development processes.
• Monitor and evaluate teaching, learning and assessment across the service.
• Track pupil progress against EHCP outcomes and reintegration objectives.
• Champion literacy, numeracy and ICT Functional Skills across the service.
• Support staff development through coaching, mentoring and training.
• Drive improvement using assessment and performance data.
• Collaborate with schools, families and partner agencies.
• Lead delivery of Digital Skills or PSHE Curriculum.
