Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a highly experienced Specialist Teacher for Deaf Children and Young People to lead the Hearing Support Team as Senior Teacher. The role covers schools, homes, and multi-agency collaboration with a focus on inclusion and attainment for deaf learners.

You will manage a caseload, deliver training, and deputise for the Team Manager. Flexible working options are available, with safeguarding and professional development supported.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status with substantial knowledge of supporting Deaf children and young people.
• Experience partnering with schools and services to improve pupil outcomes.
• Leadership experience including performance management and staff development.

Responsibilities

• Lead on areas of work within the Hearing Support Team.
• Mentor newly qualified staff and deputise for the Team Manager as needed.
• Deliver training to diverse audiences within a multi-agency context.
• Support development and safeguarding compliance across the team.
